About the role
Rai is a product consultancy based in Dubai, delivering strategy, design, and build for client products in English and Arabic. We are hiring a senior product designer to lead design across client engagements. You will work directly with the founders and with engineering, and you will be responsible for design quality across concurrent projects, from early definition through launch.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design process on client projects: user journeys, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and interaction specifications.
- Translate business requirements, user research, and product metrics into scenarios, use cases, and design decisions.
- Take broad, loosely defined problems and turn them into clear, buildable product experiences.
- Design bilingual interfaces (English and Arabic, LTR and RTL) to a single quality standard.
- Define and maintain design patterns and component libraries used across projects.
- Partner with product and engineering to scope work, review implementation against spec, and iterate on live products after launch.
- Present design decisions and rationale to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Give and solicit feedback in critique to raise design quality across the team and contractor network.
Minimum qualifications
- 6+ years of product design or UX/UI design experience, building and shipping software products.
- A portfolio demonstrating an end-to-end design process across multiple shipped projects: include a link with your application.
- Proficiency in interaction design and visual design: typography, layout, colour, iconography, and desktop and mobile UI.
- Experience prototyping in Figma and communicating design decisions through prototypes.
- Experience working directly with engineers through implementation.
- Based in Dubai, or able to relocate.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience designing Arabic or other RTL interfaces.
- Experience in an agency, consultancy, or other client-facing environment with concurrent projects.
- Experience defining or extending design systems.
- Experience designing AI-powered product experiences.
- Experience presenting work to executives or client stakeholders.
